BEIJING, Oct. 29 (Xinhua) -- China will accelerate the modernization of national defense and the military, according to the communique of the fifth plenary session of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China released Thursday.
The communique calls for integrated efforts to build a prosperous country and a strong military.
The country's national defense capabilities and economic strength should be strengthened at the same time, it says. ■
