LA TRINIDAD, Benguet, Feb 22, (PIA) -- This capital town felt the coldest temperature recorded for this year on Sunday (Feb. 21) over the weekend with chilling 7.9 degrees Celsius
The recorded temperature was read at 630AM on Sunday at the Benguet State University Agricultural Meteorological Research Station facility located at the BSU Compound here, according to Frank Raga. Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration Weather Specialist
Raga said the low temperature is caused by the Northeast Monsoon or the amihan which is the cool and dry northeast wind coming from Siberia and China and blows down to Southeast Asia affecting the Philippines.

Also on Sunday, the PAGASA recorded 9C in Baguio City, its coldest day so far for the year.
