Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], May 26 (ANI/NewsVoir):The event seeks to help students build, enhance, and test their Robotic Process Automation (RPA) literacy.
This initiative is in continuation of the Honeywell Student Empowerment Program, which trains young men and women on advanced technologies such as cloud, big data, networking, RPA, artificial intelligence, and machine learning-skills that prepare them for the future of work. The program is being driven in partnership with ICT Academy. The curriculum and certification are provided by UiPath Academic Alliance. The hackathon was launched by Bevin Maguire, Global Vice President of Communications for Honeywell.
Speaking at the launch, she said, "As a Fortune 100 technology company and leader in industrial automation, we believe it is imperative to build a future-ready workforce that is equipped to meet the demands of Industry 4.0. It is even more important to ensure that the most marginalized are offered the right skills and opportunities to be part of this workforce. The Honeywell Student Empowerment Program seeks to make new-age technical skills accessible and affordable for thousands of students."Hari Balachandran, Chief Executive Officer, ICT Academy, said, "Technology has become a part of every business. I believe this Teckathon will help the students understand the benefits of software automation, its application in various fields, and how it will play a crucial role in shaping the future of work."HHSIF has partnered with ICT Academy to deploy the Honeywell Student Empowerment Program, which offers a globally recognized certificate that will benefit bright students from marginalized sections of society. HHSIF and ICT Academy have established 50 Centers of Excellence for Youth Empowerment in tier-1 and tier-2 cities across Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Maharashtra. This upskilling program will empower 15,000 students-half of whom are women-through the project cycle and provide job placements.
Honeywell Hometown Solutions India Foundation (HHSIF) is a not-for-profit organization that deploys Honeywell's corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts in five critical areas: education, skill and research, gender equality, natural resources and the environment, holistic rural development, and disaster management. HHSIF's programs include Honeywell STEM Education for Youth, a skilling program for women and youth to build a future-ready workforce; Honeywell Model Village for holistic rural development; Honeywell Start-up Support Program for incubation in deep science; Honeywell Center for Advancing Girls in Science at Avasara Academy to promote STEM education among girls; and Honeywell COVID-19 relief.
ICT Academy (ICT Academy was started to meet the skill requirements of the industry and generate more employment especially in tier 2 and 3 towns, the rural parts of the country. Through its various initiatives, ICT Academy has been part of strengthening the India's four important visions on Skill India, Digital India, Startup India and Make in India.
